If you have NOT yet downloaded PlatinumPopup 1.5.1 before publication of this post, this is not for you – the patch has already been applied to the plugin. You can simply download your copy of PlatinumPopup 1.5.1, install and activate.

How to Apply the Patch

If you don’t want to follow the procedure below, you can simply re-download the plugin, upload and install over the existing one (using the Add New menu under Plugins), activate and that will be that…

Alternatively:

1. Download the patch here (the same patch applies to both Lite and Premium versions)
2. Extract the file platinumpopup-v151patch20100716.zip to your hard disk
3. You now have the following folders/file system:
   • platinumpopup/js/pp.popup.js
4. Backup your blog’s database and deactivate the PlatinumPopup plugin (just precautionary)
5. Using your FTP client or cPanel File Manager, navigate to the corresponding location on your WordPress blog:
   • /wp-content/plugins/platinumpopup/js/
6. Upload the file pp.popup.js from your computer to the /js/ folder on your blog, overwriting the existing file in that folder.
7. Reactivate PlatinumPopup
8. Delete platinumpopup/js/pp.popup.js from your hard disk – unless you like gathering digital junk on your computer…
9. That’s it!
